What's included

What an interior repaint covers

Walls and ceilings

Rolled and cut in by hand for an even finish, including high stairwells and feature walls.

Doors, frames and skirtings

Sanded and finished in a hard-wearing enamel so they stand up to daily knocks.

Kitchens and bathrooms

Paint systems chosen for steam and moisture, so ceilings stay clean and mould-free for longer.

Repairs before paint

Cracks, dents and nail holes filled and sanded. Larger damage is plastered first.

Stains and marks sealed

Water stains, smoke and old marks are sealed so they do not bleed back through the new paint.

Colour changes

Going from dark to light, or the other way? We allow for the extra coats so the colour is true.

How it works

How an interior job runs

  1. Protect

Furniture moved and covered, floors sheeted, fittings masked.

  2. Prepare

Fill, sand and spot-prime so the surface is smooth and sound.

  3. Paint

Ceilings first, then walls, then doors and trims, with the right number of coats.

  4. Tidy and check

Covers lifted, room put back, and a walk-through with you.

Interior painting done around your household

Most interior work happens while people are still living in the house, so we plan it room by room. You always have somewhere to cook, sleep and work, and we tell you each day which rooms are next.

Wellington and Hutt Valley homes range from old villas with timber sarking and high ceilings to newer GIB-lined houses. Older walls usually need more filling and sanding before paint, and that preparation is where most of the time on a good interior job goes.

We work in occupied homes, rentals between tenants, houses being readied for sale, and new builds for builders and renovators.

FAQ

Common questions

How long does it take to paint a room?

A single bedroom or lounge is often done in a day or two, including preparation. A full interior usually takes one to two weeks depending on the size of the house and how much repair the walls need.

Do I have to move out while you paint?

No. We work room by room so the house stays liveable, and we use low-odour water-based paints wherever they suit the job.

Will you move the furniture?

Yes. We move and cover furniture and protect floors. Small valuables and breakables are best put away before we start.

Can you paint over wallpaper?

It is usually better to strip it. Paint can lift the seams and show every join. We strip, skim and sand the wall so the finish looks right.
